Effects of Cu2+ Concentration on Cu2+ Deposition on TiO2 Nanotubes
As seen from the results in Table 1, the removal efficiency of the TNT increases with initial Cu2+ concentration from 90.90% in the 1mg/L concentration, to 99.57% in 10mg/L concentration. With the surface area to volume ratio of the TNT and the Cu2+ solution constant in the experiment, it is more likely for Cu2+ to be deposited on the surface of TNT with a more concentrated Cu2+ solution. However, the removal efficiency of TNT in 100mg/L concentration dropped drastically to 9.92%. This may be traced to the saturation of the occupied hydroxyl groups which allow Cu2+ to be deposited on the TNT surface.
